Mercury Prize: Alt-J

There’s one band the indie music lovers can’t stop talking about and that band is Alt-J (∆). They have just won the Mercury Prize with their debut album, An Awesome Wave, which was released last May. An Awesome Wave is filled with mellow pop vocal melodies as well as hip-hop inspired grooves. I first heard about them when they headlined Milhões de Festa, a small festival in my hometown. No one had heard about these guys before but all of a sudden everyone was falling in love with their music. It is simple but groovy. Completely worth a listen.
