Leaning Towards Solace, Sigur Rós

We already talked about the Valtari Mystery Film Experiment right here.
The last video of this series came out a few days ago and the final result is breathtaking. The video is entitled Leaning Towards Solace and includes two Sigur Rós songs: Dauðalogn and Varúð.
It was directed by Floria Sigismondi.

Video: Varúð, Sigur Rós (2012)

With the release of their new album, Valtari, Sigur Rós came up with this interesting idea named Valtari Mystery Film Experiment. In their own words:

Sigur rós have given a dozen film makers the same modest budget and asked them to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from the band’s new album valtari. The idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom. Among the filmmakers are ramin bahrani, alma har’el and john cameron mitchell.

“we never meant our music to come with apre-programmed emotional  response. wedon’t want to tell anyone how to feel and what to take from it. with the films,we have literally no idea what the directors are going to come back with. none ofthem know what  the others are doing, sohopefully it could be interesting.”

A couple of days ago a new video for the song Varúð was released. This version was created by Björn Flóki.
