Manoel de Oliveira, the oldest film
director alive, turns 104 today!
His latest release is Gebo And The
Shadow which came out this year and was screened during the Venice Film
Festival. Despite his age he already has two more projects: O Velho do Restelo based on Os Lusíadas
by Luís de Camões and A Igreja do Diabo.
His first film Douro, Faina
Fluvial was released in 1931.
Below there’s a lovely video of Manoel de Oliveira dancing when he was 99 years
old. What a man!
Happy Birthday Manoel de Oliveira!
